Who is it for?

For people who help other people grow.

01

Add a memorable, practical framework to the learning experiences you already create. Whether you’re an independent coach, an in-house trainer, or already running your own programmes, TetraMap gives you something refreshing to add to your toolkit — without replacing the work you already do well.

02

Build relational capability across leadership, culture, change and collaboration. At Estée Lauder NZ, TetraMap gave HR a shared language for coaching, performance management and strategic planning — simple enough to stick, and embedded enough to help earn a national Investors In People award.

03

Help people value difference, communicate clearly and contribute with confidence. From a Hong Kong university helping students work through group tension, to Aotearoa’s largest indigenous tertiary institute weaving TetraMap into its own teaching philosophy, educators and community leaders use it to help people understand each other faster.

The foundation

Certified

TetraMap

Facilitator.

The CTF journey gives you the context, content and confidence to bring TetraMap to others.

Through practical experience and guided facilitation, you learn how the framework works, how to lead its core activities and how to integrate it into the work you already do.

What you gain:

  • A recognised Certified TetraMap Facilitator credential

  • Knowledge and skills to facilitate TetraMap workshops

  • Resources and tools to support confident delivery

  • Connection to an international facilitator community

How it works:

In Person: two full days, 9am–5:30pm. Online: four live 3.5-hour modules run weekly, plus two 1.5-hour group mentoring sessions. Hybrid: a blend set by your facilitator. All three are built to the same standard — TetraMap's own promise is that facilitators experience a learning programme of equal quality and depth, whichever way they take it.

You start by experiencing "Why Are You Like That?" as a participant, not a facilitator — understanding TetraMap's metaphors and your own preferences before you're asked to teach anyone else's. You begin building your own facilitation toolkit here too, including Flippin' Flipcharts and the Art of TetraMapping.

This is where the shift happens — from experiencing TetraMap to being trusted to deliver it. Covers reaching all four Elements as a facilitator, Catalytic Questions, small-group practice, and "Stepping Up to Your Facilitation Success."

Pre-course reading and preparation are sent ahead of the course itself, including access to TetraMap's founding book and a Learning Journal you'll keep building throughout.

There's no test to pass. At the close of the course, certificates are placed under each participant's chair, and everyone stands and presents someone else's certificate to them, recognising what they've achieved together over the two days. It's built as a shared celebration, not an assessment.

Ongoing access to TetraMap's resource library, the standing to purchase and use TetraMap materials with your own clients, and entry into a global community of certified facilitators.

Your development pathway

Begin where you are. Grow with your practice.

Certification is not a single endpoint. It is a pathway from supported application to confident facilitation, specialist leadership work and deeper mastery.

ATF | A supported first step

Begin applying TetraMap in a defined context through an associate pathway offered in selected regions.

Duration:

  • 1 full day (9:00 am–5:30 pm) in person,
followed by four 2 hour online sessions over 4 weeks

Prerequisites: None

Scope: Narrower than CTF by design — certified specifically to deliver the “Why Are You Like That?” workshop in community, education and charitable settings across emerging markets, with a Personal Development focus rather than CTF’s full Personal/Team/Organisational scope.

Format: Hybrid option only.

CTF | The foundation certification

Build the context, content and confidence to facilitate TetraMap and integrate it into your own learning solutions.

Duration:

  • In-person: 2 full days (9:00 am–5:30 pm)

  • Online: 4 live 3.5 hour modules run weekly, plus two 1.5 hour group mentoring sessions

  • Hybrid: A blend set by your facilitator

Prerequisites: None

Format: In-person, online, or hybrid options available.

MTF | Go deeper, broader and further

Develop greater mastery, lead transformation and contribute to the long-term reach and legacy of TetraMap.

Duration:

  • A 12-week live online cohort, run periodically throughout the year.

Assessment: No exam, no pass or fail. The programme concludes with a Project Sharing and Celebration session.

Prerequisites: Must be an experienced Certified TetraMap Facilitator.

Staying certified: MTF is an active credential, not a one-time award. Certification is kept current through ongoing engagement with the MTF community, not by re-sitting the programme. Any one of the following, at least once a year, keeps it active: staying connected through community sessions or calls, contributing something to the community (a case study, a resource, a project update), or helping grow others by mentoring a CTF or supporting a newly certified facilitator. Stepping away for a while — a career break, a health issue, a sabbatical — moves status to inactive rather than losing it; reconnecting brings it back.

Optional add-on (not required for MTF): Becoming a CTF Certifier — two additional 90-minute sessions for MTFs who want to go on to certify new CTFs themselves. Every MTF can help other facilitators grow; not every MTF needs to certify them.

Format: Fully live and online across 13 weekly sessions, mostly 60–90 minutes each — combining masterclasses, research conversations, a Facilitation Laboratory, a Design Studio, culture and worldview discussions, and mentoring practice — plus a personal MTF Project that develops throughout the programme rather than as a separate end-of-course assignment. Minimum 80% live attendance is required; sessions are recorded for anyone who misses one.

TMOL | Extended into leadership

Help leaders explore courage, wisdom, compassion and inspiration through a practical leadership toolkit.

Duration:

  • Six live online sessions, run over approximately four weeks

Assessment: No exam or pass/fail process is described — consistent with CTF and MTF, certification appears to be awarded on completion of the six sessions rather than through formal testing.

Prerequisites: Must be an existing Certified TetraMap Facilitator. MTF is not required.

What’s included: A complete facilitation kit with all materials, access to the TetraMap Leadership digital resource hub, and ongoing support from the TetraMap community — plus, once certified, the ability to deliver the TMOL programme with your own clients and participants.

Format: Six live sessions built around the four leadership perspectives — Courage, Wisdom, Compassion and Inspiration. Small group sizes, kept deliberately intimate for real interaction and application rather than passive listening.
